I agree with Marg...Nora Yay for Marg's entry about gay marriage! It should be allowed. And it's not just the marriage thing. I'm sick of people discrimintaing against them. I'm tired of getting weird looks because I'm in the gay-straight alliance. They are exactly like us. I hate it when people don't have any reason to be against it, but don't like it because it's "gross". Okay, so maybe I think it's gross when people don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom. But are we constantly making fun of those people and not letting them get married? I don't think so. And even when people do have some religious thing against it, it's just, grrr. Okay, I'm Catholic, and I'm in the GSA! Aren't we supposed to love everyone? Isn't it supposed to be equal for all men and women and anything in between....equal for all humans? I mean, I can understand when people day things like "that's so gay." I understand that it's a common term used to describe something "bad" or "stupid" and that it sometimes just slips out. I don't get mad at those people, just correct them. What I don't understand is how someone can think another human being deserves fewer rights than them because they aren't attracted to the "right" gender. I just don't get it. Discriminating against gays makes just as much sense as discriminating against other races, or discriminating against other genders, or even discriminating against people who like the color orange! Seriously, man, this has got to stop. They're just like us, and that's how they deserve to be treated. |
